The shape of the basin, like the lion's grip of the handle of the jug which is inserted with the head of Medusa and its ovoid shape, are defined in the adherence to the typical forms of neoclassicism of the early 19th century with a taste of typically Neapolitan elegance in a refined game of gold on white with rich and sumptuous decoration of leaf spirals together with delicate vine shoots that still run in the Louis XVI style.
The reserves, in free field on the jug depicting "Retail oil seller" and inside the gold reserve in the cavetto of the basin depicting "Vegetable seller",
they tell in great detail the arts and crafts of the City, according to the fashion of the Grand Tour widely adopted by the real Neapolitan porcelain production to bear witness to scenes of life and customs of the Kingdom.
