Lots deadlines: July 2nd-3rd
The catalogue of the new BLINDARTE summer online auction of 19th-20th century paintings and sculptures is online at www.blindarte.com with a postponed deadline for lots between 2 and 3 July.
The catalogue offers a refined selection of 19th century paintings and sculptures, with particular attention to the Neapolitan pictorial tradition, from 19th century masters such as Attilio Pratella, Vincenzo Irolli, Vincenzo Caprile and Giuseppe Carelli to the early 20th century paintings of Antonio Bresciani, Carlo Striccoli and Luigi Crisconio.
The portrait section is particularly interesting, including a rare and elegant pastel by Gaetano Esposito (estimate €1,500/2,000), the intense Portrait of Antonio Mancini (estimate €2,500/3,000) and an oil on canvas signed by Vincenzo Volpe (estimate €800/1,000). Among the works of the early twentieth century, a selection of pastels by Giuseppe Casciaro stands out, including the delightful "Nel giardino di casa Casciaro", a luminous view of Capri and the Paesaggio con casolare, coming from prestigious private Neapolitan collections.
The section dedicated to sculpture is distinguished by the presence of masterpieces by Vincenzo Gemito, one of the most important Italian sculptors of the nineteenth century, and by Giuseppe De Martino, who stands out for the innovative use of biscuit in his famous "Fumatore", a work that combines realism and technical refinement.
