Giovanni Mollica was already a ceramist at the Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea, which founded the Mollica factory in 1842.
The bust derives from a bronze original preserved in the Mann collections and from the famous library of the Villa dei Papiri discovered in Herculaneum.
