Augusto Perez made his debut in the Neapolitan collective of young artists in 1951, obtaining the approval of Vasco Pratolini and three years later he presented a group of large plaster sculptures at the Neapolitan gallery "Blu di Prussia". In 1955 he held a personal exhibition in Rome and the following year he participated in the XXVIII Venice Biennale. His works have also been exhibited in various European institutions such as the Gallery of Modern Art in Paris, the Rodin Museum, the Antwerp Biennial and the Tunnard Gallery in London.

"I believe that artists always work on the boundary between the visible and the invisible. It is inevitable, all great works contain something mysterious"
