Pastore con gregge sui Camaldoli

Once known as Monte Prospetto for the wonderful panorama it offered, the Camaldoli hill boasts very ancient origins following a violent eruption in the Phlegraean area which occurred more than 35,000 years ago. The current name derives from the Camaldolese Hermitage which was established in the 17th century and which made this area one of the green lungs of the city.

In this work Consalvo Carelli puts into practice his experience as a watercolorist and skilled landscape painter, gained thanks to his closeness with the English master William Leicht and the exponents of the Posillipo School, from whom he drew his descriptive ability and the charm of en plein air painting .
