Neapolitan console table in the Louis-Philippe style, late 19th century

Wall-mounted console table in fine wood, richly carved and contoured. The piece features an original white veined-marble top, finely shaped with a sinuous, curvilinear outline. The apron is centered by an elaborate, ornate crest, richly carved with foliate motifs and raised Rococo-style scrolls. The structure is supported by four imposing, sinuous legs, with the front supports terminating in pronounced scrolls. At the base, the supports are joined by a shaped cross-stretcher, which culminates at the center in a gadrooned element carved in the form of a cup.
