Painted terracotta, lead legs, and glass eyes

The small sculpture depicts a brown goat with a beautiful
hairline, its head turned to the right, and a tuft of hair on its forehead. Saverio Vassallo was considered one of the most celebrated masters of animal sculpture, active in Naples in the last twenty years of the 18th century.
