Francesco De Mura

Francesco De Mura, undoubtedly considered the most talented of Solimena's students, began to develop his own sensibility from the early 1730s, and this small but refined painting, dating from after mid-century, is a classic example. While his painting modeled on the master's style, De Mura's style became more graceful, with references also to the later work of Sebastiano Conca.
